Seasons and Nutrition

When we are connected to the Mother Earth and live with the awareness for the changing seasons we innately understand and are shown by Mother Nature what to eat and when to eat. We go to sleep with the moon and awake with the sun. We eat to sustain ourselves and gather to us those foods which are best.

The Golden Mean

Mōden agan nothing in excess In Western philosophy, the GOLDEN MEAN is the middle between two extremes, one of excess and the other of deficiency. Nothing in Excess – was one of the phrases carved into the Temple of Apollo at Delphi.

In Memory: Reflections

It was later that his story really came to an end – if “story” means: all that he did and caused and set in motion. No one is truly dead until the ripples they cause in the world die away. Why Chinese Nutrition?

Older societies can often impart a deeper, more balanced view of how to lead a rich and satisfying life. The security of lives backed-up with tradition and knowledge lets wisdom grow from mother to daughter. Refined, it becomes the basis of great societies. I have the blessing of being born to a mother who had the insight to teach her children the value of wandering from a pack of sheep to behold beauty as well as lifetimes of fortunes to have a Guru who is also a Mother and who has imparted the gift of Self-Realization.

The Beginning of a Journey

When I was a small child my favorite restaurant was a Chinese one in the downtown area of Providence, the capital of Rhode Island in the United States. I loved all the lanterns and the many dishes and the smiling faces of those who brought the food. I loved the wonton soup. And I loved the surprises they brought us small children - a forerunner of the Überraschungseier and Macdonald’s children’s gifts.
